About our Trauma Workshops
We are excited to offer Trauma Counselling Courses in South Africa.
This 12 month training course will enable you to become confident in Trauma Work and provide you with all the necessary tools to deal with any given situation successfully.
Trauma Incident Reduction is a Powerful Technique that is used to address the aftermath of Traumatic experiences. TIR is a rapid (compared to traditional therapy) method of effectively reducing Traumatic stress from emotionally and/or physically painful events. It involves re-visiting past Traumas and then detaching the emotional charge associated with the event in a completely safe environment; free from distractions or judgement. The value of this approach was appreciated by other professionals and a training program was developed. TACSAR Ministries are training up Trauma workers in South Africa by providing these Trauma Workshops and training courses. All training courses are short courses and will lead to Certificates, we are in negotiations to get accreditation as a tertiary institution and will then offer these training courses as well as many others as Diploma and Degree Courses. The short courses will all carry Credits as per the SAQA and NQF levels and may lead to further certification at a later stage in time. We are also able to confirm that although not accepted by the National Health Department, we will assist in getting certificate holders registered with the Council of Counselors and also assist them in the path of being ordained as Pastoral Care workers / Pastoral Counselors and or Pastors if they complete the Christian Life Training syllabus.
